Chelsea Told to Reject Signing Salah from Liverpool

Chelsea have been advised against re-signing Mohamed Salah if the Egyptian forward becomes available as a free agent next summer. Salah, whose contract at Liverpool is expiring, has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain and Saudi Pro League teams, but not to a Premier League rival.

Former Chelsea defender William Gallas believes that signing Salah would be a mistake, citing potential disruption to the squad’s harmony. “I think Chelsea should reject the chance to sign Mohamed Salah as a free agent this summer,” Gallas said. “He would be a disruption to the squad. The current Chelsea team are all learning and growing together, and it’s working for Enzo Maresca. They are all part of a generation with no big egos, despite Cole Palmer being the focal point. I think bringing in a player like Salah wouldn’t be good for the balance of the squad, despite his form in the Premier League and how it would weaken Liverpool.”

Salah’s initial stint at Chelsea from 2014 was marked by a tough spell, earning just 19 appearances before rebuilding his reputation elsewhere. His subsequent success at Liverpool, with 227 goals in 371 appearances, has made him a global superstar.

Liverpool hopes to retain Salah, negotiating a contract extension to keep their talismanic winger. A return to Chelsea seems unlikely, with Gallas’ comments reflecting the potential risks of disrupting the team’s dynamics.
